I’ve compiled a bluesy 11-song playlist for a blue Monday morning. Dreaded school has been in full swing for an entire week now, and as you can probably imagine it’s been quite an adjustment from the Barcelona beaches and French pastries I was indulging in not too long ago. I’ve been really into music that, in the best way I can describe it, is a trippy mix between trance/electronic music and RnB/soul. Not the greatest description, but you’ll get the feel of it once you listen to it.
I’ve come across a couple of definitions across the web, such as “elegantly sad dubstep”, “post-dubstep” (interesting), “torch songs” (I particularly like this one, although I’m still trying to figure out its meaning) and “neo-soul”. Probably the most apt label is what many have simply called “cross-genre”. There we go. My friend Bongi and I lay on the floor of our hotel room listening to this kind of music for like 3 hours in a dizzy haze of mellow euphoria – basically sober/trippy. When I complimented her taste in music, she smiled with a sense of accomplishment and said, “I know.” Let me know what you think, guuuuyyyssss.
PS. Sohn and Kwabs and James and Benedict are brilliant *heart eyes emoji*

I don't know many of these artists (Banks and James Blake are SO good though!) so I'm definitely giving a listen to this. I really liked the termin "elegantly sad dubstep"!
